Abstract:
The article discusses some processes for the preparation of ferrite core memories and problems encountered when using these processes. The problems of other lines which in essence are parallel to the selection lines are not dealt with here. Various methods are reviewed which have been developed in recent years to mechanize the different stages in the fabrication process, and it is pointed out that the process of threading the core has only been partially mechanized. The importance of the problem will grow in the years immediately ahead, especially as better production methods will bring down the cost of ferrite core matrices.
