Abstract:
The purpose of the paper is to collect and review different methods of orbital time computation, applied to the central orbits in general and in more details to the conic sections. Some historical notes have been introduced and it has been shown that even such an ancient device as the Ptolemaic equant could be used for an approximate time estimation. Cases of a repellent force, descent along a spiral etc., have been investigated, but some important topics like normalization of time equation, sidereal time estimation etc., were omitted in this report in order to keep it within intended volume.
