Abstract:
This is the fifth Weight Status Report for the XSM-65C Missile. The weights shown in this report reflect the revised specifications. The Details Of G.F.A.E. Variations, Section IV, presents a listing of all G.F.A.E. equipment weights on the XSM-65C Missile. The figures showing the changes represent the present specification weight versus the current weight. Principal Current Weight Changes are Expendable Propellants, 414 lbs., based on a re-evaluation of tank volumes and ullages. Tank Skins, 41 lbs., increase in gauge due to ECP 94. G.E. Mod II Guidance System, 119 lbs. The G.E. Mod III Guidance System was originally scheduled for all XSM-65C Missiles, according to ECP-78, however, a late effectivity change excluded Missile 3C from this schedule prior to incorporation of ECP-78 into this report. Pressurization System, -65 lbs., calc. versus estimate. Ground Cooling and Vent, -40 lbs., calc. versus estimate. In the Booster Stage Fireshield and Canted Exhaust redesign due to ECP 81, 46 lbs. ECP 81 has been included by various design group changes and G.F.A.E. Variations in previous weight reports, 54 lbs. in ZW-7-088 dated 1 May 1958 -178 lbs. in ZW-7-077 dated 1 March 1958. Exhaust System Supports, -30 lbs., removal of Estimate. Ground Pressure Control Group, -25 lbs., calc. versus estimate. Pressurization Group, -20 lbs., calc. versus estimate. Author
