Abstract:
During the quarter, 2- and 4-biphenylphenylphosphinic, alpha-naphthylphenylphosphinic, bism-trifluoromethylphenylphosphinic, trifluoromethylphenylphosphinic, and n-heptafluoropropylphenylphosphinic acids, and beryllium 2-biphenyl phenylphosphinate, phosphafluorinate, and bism-trifluoromethylphenylphosphinate were prepared. Reactions of trifluoromethylphenylphosphinic acid with beryllium acetylacetonate, and bis-n-heptafluoropropylphosphinic and n-heptafluoropropylphenylphosphinic acids with beryllium hexafluoroacetylacetonate were studied. Aluminum phosphinates were prepared by reaction of aluminum acetylacetonate with dimethylphosphinic, di-n-butylphosphinic, diphenylphosphinic, and bis-n-heptafluoropropylphosphinic acids. The reactions of tungsten VI chloride with sulfamic acid and benzenesulfonamide were studied. Attempts were made to make vinyl and nitrate derivatives from alpha-sulfanuric chloride. The thermal stabilities of the beryllium and aluminum phosphinates and of alpha-sulfanuric chloride were studied by DTA and TGA. Author
