Four firings of the Rocketdyne J-2 rocket engine were conducted in Test Cell J-4 of the Large Rocket Facility. The firings were accomplished during test period J4-1801-01 at pressure altitudes ranging from 97,000 to 108,000 ft at engine start to evaluate S-VS-II gas generator ignition characteristics for J-2 engine J-2052. Engine components were temperature conditioned to the predicted values for the S-II interstageengine environment. Satisfactory engine operation was obtained. The accumulated firing duration was 45.3 sec.
