Abstract:

Statistical analysis of 16 experiments shows that there is no significant difference among commercially available redox electrodes at the 0.01 to 0.05 level of significance. This variance is assumed to be very good for the sulfite-sulfate and tissue culture medium weakly poised compared with poised with redox dyes systems employed in this study. Also, electrode behavior in individual vessels varies to a greater extent than the behavior of multiple electrodes in one vessel. This supports the assumption that nonreproducibility of electrode readings was caused by factors other than the electrode system itself. Author
