Abstract:
The tensile and compressive, shear, bearing, fatigue and fracture- toughness properties of a total of 153 samples of 2014, 2024, 6061, 7075, 7079, and 7178 aluminum alloy extrusions in the TX51X and heat-treated-by-user tempers have been determined. The extrusions ranged in thickness from 0.050 to 6.500 in. Ratios among the tensile, compressive, shear and bearing properties have also been computed. Stress-corrosion tests of 43 samples of extrusions have been made.
