Abstract:
The purpose of this report is to discuss the basic requirements for agent container-vehicles with respect to the physical and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys. The physical, mechanical, and fabrication properties that determine whether the alloys are favorable or unfavorable for use as agent containers are detailed. It is concluded that conventional methods and materials should be replaced by new ones directed toward the development of alloys with a high strength-to-weight ratio and a long storage life without leakage. Previous analyses of containers for agent storage were conducted on materials made by unknown processes and, therefore, are not repeatable. Author
