Further investigations have been carried out on Al-Zn-Mg alloys, having zinc and magnesium content ranging from 4 to 5 Zn and from 1 to 3 Mg. The research has been developed along the following lines 1 evaluation of the tensile properties of extrusions and plates as a function of isothermal and two-step ageing cycles 2 anodic stress-corrosion tests on extrusions and plates, stressed respectively on the long and on the short-transverse direction 3 corrosion tests on unwelded and welded sheets exposed in different environments accelerated corrosion exposure in urban and in marine atmosphere 4 study of the influence of the structure modifications depending on heating cycles like those occurring during welding, on the corrosion resistance of Al-4Zn-2.7Mg Cr, Mn, Zr alloy sheets 5 tensile tests at cyrogenic temperatures on notched and unnotched specimens taken from sheets.
