Abstract:
The report, second in a series, contains calibration procedures for resistance - strain gage pressure transducers, fifth wheels, sound- and noise-measuring instrumentation, resistance - strain gage load transducers, infrared telescopic unit of fuze chronograph, and frequency - time measuring equipment. Lack of written procedures hampers standardization of calibration techniques and the objectives of the Army Calibration System. Some calibration procedures that are commonplace in proving ground operations are published to assist in standardizing local calibration procedures, to provide guidance where calibration of these items is necessary elsewhere, and to serve as a basis for a Department of the Army Calibration Technical Bulletin if one is required.
