In this paper are presented the results of a numerical study of the equation of motion for the hose instability. The numerical parameters were taken such that the results should apply to the experimental Astron beam program. The model for this study has the following characteristics a beam of charged particles of mass m and charge e is moving in the z-direction through a uniform plasma at essentially the speed of light the beam is subjected to sinusoidal transverse modulation in the y-direction at the entrance to the plasma channel no account of longitudinal beam modulation chopping has been considered in the results presented here.
