Abstract:

The terminal guidance simulator is an electro-optical device that provides a dynamic real time display of ground terrain television images as they would be scanned from a gimballed image sensor mounted in the nose of a missile. The simulator uses transparencies of aerial photographs to simulate the target area. A hand-operated cursor and a foot-operated readout switch are provided as operator controls. Portions of the transparency are projected onto a screen, where the image is picked up by a closed circuit television system for operator display.
