Some lignosulfonic acid additives to the negative plate seem to increase cycle life somewhat at 60 depth-of-discharge. Ethanol additives under 1 appear to increase cycle life of the negative plate. Surfactants other than BC-610 do not appear to increase cycle life of the negative plate. Cycle life is increased in cold temperatures by decreasing the percentage of BC-610 in the negative material. The reverse is true at room temperature and 100 F.
