Abstract:

This study has been conducted to assess the effects of transmission multi-paths and reflections primarily an altitude variable, range and time of day upon the accuracy and completeness with which an interpreter reports the target content in photographs transmitted via an air-to-ground data link. The results of this investigation have shown that altitude, range and time of day do not degrade the target acquisition performance on transmitted imagery. It was found, however, that the quality of the photographic imagery and the difficulty of the interpretation task do affect the accuracy and completeness with which targets are reported. Author
