Abstract:
The exploration of the application of metal-catalyzed or inhibited redox agents to the determination of trace level quantities of chemical agents was extended to include 1 a study of the effect of possible interferences to the determination of microgram quantities of EDTA, 2 a study of the effect of sulfur-containing ligands such as cysteine and mercaptoethylamine on the CuII-catalyzed autoxidation of 1-ascorbic acid, and 3 a study of the reproducibility of the method for sulfur-containing ligands based on the HgII-inhibited, iodide-catalyzed reaction of CeIV-AsIII. Several distinct analytical methods for the determination of various nitrogen-, oxygen-, and sulfur-containing ligands have been developed. New systems will continue to be explored for improvement in selectivity and sensitivity. Author
