Abstract:

The report details the history of the development into production of a barrier grid storage tube from the preliminary production engineering phase through the pilot production run. It reports the establishments and optimization of new processing techniques, new designs and manner of tests accomplished during the preliminary phase to ready the tube for the production run. It further reports on the modifications made to the tube design and test equipment during the pilot production. The Conclusions section details the overall accomplishments of the program to the production of the barrier grid storage tube and to possible other uses of these same accomplishments. It further reviews what action might be taken to promote the interest of posssilbe users in the applications of this device. The second section of this report details the processes, procedures, piece parts, sub-assembly and tube outline drawings necessary for manufacturing, exhausting, testing and final packaging of the barrier grid storage tube. The third section of the report is the quality assurance procedures for controlling the production of the barrier grid storage tube. Author
