Abstract:
Project ALARR Air-Launched Air-Recoverable Rocket is a program to develop a system for launching 200-pound, air-sampling payloads to apogees from 90,000 to 360,000 feet. It has a global capability less dependent upon ground facilities than ground-launched systems. The Low Altitude Bombing Systems LABS in the F-4 launch aircraft fires the ALARR vehicle while the F-4 is in a pullup. Varying the angle at which the LABS fires the motor varies the vehicle apogee. This report describes the two pullups selected to achieve the required tragjectories. Author
