Abstract:

The fabrication of an experimental prototype radial expanding beam tube is being accomplished based on the information obtained from analysis of the digital computer plots. Determination of the optimum sizes, shapes, and orientations of the various gun subassemblies is in process. An Ultek T.N.B. high-vacuum system and demountable structures are being used in experimental evaluation of the various fabrications. Continued experimentation with structures derived on the basis of the computer plots and theoretical analysis will result in optimum structures that will be used in a final-design gun which will be tested under full power.
