An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the liquid-vapor phase equilibria of the hydrogen-carbon dioxide system. The experimental apparatus used in the investigation was a vapor recirculation type flow system provided with facilities for accurately controlling the temperature and measuring the pressure, and for sampling the equilibrium phases. Gas chromatography was used for analyzing the samples. The system was studied in the temperature range 220 K to 290 K and at pressures up to 200 atmospheres. This region is covered by six isotherms at nominal temperatures of 220, 230, 245, 260, 275, and 290 K. The results are presented in tabular form and graphically as mole percent hydrogen versus pressure and in expanded form as mole percent of the minor component versus pressure. K-Factors were calculated from the results and are presented graphically. The data of this investigation are compared with the other published data on the hydrogen-carbon dioxide system. The analytical accuracy is believed to be within plus or minus 3 of the reported data with temperatures accurate to plus or minus 0.1 K and pressures accurate to plus or minus 0.1. Author
