PLANT SAMPLES FOR CHEMICAL ANALYSIS (COLLECTED DURING THE SUMMER OF 1964)

The collection listed consists of 248 numbers of samples which comprised approximately 1500 lbs. dry weight of materials. They originated from the southern part of Colombia Part I and Part II of this report and central Ecuador Part III. All the samples were shipped to the U. S. directly from Pasto, Narino, Colombia, by air mail. Of the 248 numbers of samples collected, 27 numbers have been identified to species, 114 numbers have been identified to genus, 60 numbers have been identified to family, and 37 numbers are unidentified. Since any information concerning uses and medicinal roles which is doubtful was not recorded, this limits to only those few plants with more certain medicinal properties. These are the following numbers 940, 987, 1000, 1010, 1112, 1153, 1172, 1173, 1278, 1281, 1282, 1312, 1356, 1390, 1399, 1400, 1401, 1402, 1404, and 1405.
