Theoretical analysis of the unstable behavior of solid propellants has permitted the propellant response preferred frequencies to be calculated in terms of burning rate and activation energies for solid and gas phase reactions. The fractional heat release in the condensed phase reactions has been shown to be of importance in determining the magnitude of the propellant response.
