This volume is concerned with the specific calculation of the half-widths of the electronic-vibration-rotation lines in the First and Second Positive Systems of nitrogen, the Gamma and Beta systems of nitric oxide, the Schumann-Runge system of oxygen and the First Negative system of positive nitrogen broadened by Resonance and Van der Waals forces. Width calculation is preceded by Van der Waals constant calculation. As predicted in Volume II, the widths are not strongly dependent on vibrational excitation. Resonance forces are found to have a negligible effect on the broadening which means that J-dependence will be negligible. Author
