The objective of this program is to determine the feasibility of increasing the energy content of solid materials by permanent non-equilibrium dislocations of lattice members. The energy source chosen for this study is neutron irradiation and the material to be irradiated is ammonium perchlorate. Solution calorimetry will be utilized to determine the amount of energy storage. The program is divided into two separate portions with Phase I covering sample irradiation and Phase II covering calorimetry and analysis operations with the irradiated samples. Author
