The experimentally determined wavelength and scattering-angle dependence of tropospheric scatter propagation can be explained by applying the energy spectrum obtained from stratified turbulence theory rather than spectrum from hemogeneous turbulence theory as is usually assumed. This results in the scattering to be proportional to the wavelength and to sin theta2 to the minus 5 power, where theta is the scattering angle. Author
