The objectives of this study were to provide a polyurethane loosefill cushioning material suitable for the protection of lightweight, fragile items and to determine if polyurethane sheet stock materials can be reused in a loosefill form. Two densities of polyurethane ether type were investigated for possible use as loosefill materials. Completed pack performance data in the form of Peak G versus Static Stress curves and Vibration Settling versus Static Stress curves were developed. Performance results indicated that polyurethane materials can be used in a loosefill form for protection of lightweight low static stress items. Author
