The effect of the addition of organic semiconductors and inorganic semiconductors on thermal decomposition of barium azide was investigated. Lengthening and bending of polymer chains appears to inhibit barium azide decomposition and introduction of side chains to aromatic nuclei appears to weaken the inhibiting effect. The inhibition may be connected with increase in conjugation of multiple bonds and more complete generalization of pi-electrons, leading to change in the electron work function.
