The background and design of a plasma spray unit with a rotary copper substrate and contained in an inert gas chamber is described. This unit is capable of producing amorphous alloys as strip of 30 mil thickness in bulk quantities at rates of 15 gmin, as demonstrated by the retention of amorphous Cu.60Zr.40. Author
