Pagination or Media Count:
The hydraulic and sedimentary characteristics of tidal inlets on sandy coasts have long been of interest to engineers involved in harbor design and maintenance. OBrien 1931, in a study of west coast inlets, proposed a relationship between the minimum inlet area below mean sea level and the tidal prism. The Bolinas Bay-Bolinas Lagoon system is a natural laboratory in which a large amount of data has been compiled on hydrography, wave action, tidal hydraulics, sediment transport and sedimentation, and the ecosystem.
