Abstract:
The interest in indicator organisms, i.e., individuals or groups of organisms which reflect environmental quality has been rapidly expanding. Organisms have generally been grouped into three categories with regard to their pollution tolerance tolerant, intermediate or faculative, and intolerant or sensitive. It is felt that application of this measure of biotic similarity can easily group organisms into these categories.
