Pagination or Media Count:
The application of several new technologies has improved military time fuzing so that it can now satisfy a number of projected weapon system requirements. This improved time fuzing which uses electronic rather than mechanical clocks can be characterized by ease of setting, accuracy, reliability, and direct interfacing with fire control computers. The new technologies involved in this advanced fuzing effort include the metal nitride oxide semiconductor MNOS nonvolatile memory, monolithic and hybrid integrated electronics, and unique power supplies. These technologies and how they have been applied in variations of a multipurpose time fuze at the Harry Diamond Laboratories is the subject of this paper.
