Harmless doses, minimally toxic and maximum tolerable doses, LD50 and LD100 of three ortanophosphorous insecticides were determined for rabbits. Skin tests of trichlorometaphos-3 established that it does not have sensitizing properties. TCM-3 and thiooxydiethylmercapto-n-butylmethylphosphine in pure form cause constriction of the pupils, hemorrhage of the mucosa of the eyelid, clotting of the cornea, pus with subsequent formation of cataracts in rabbits. Threshold densities of application of the compounds to the skins of rabbits were determined. Doses of TCM-3, at which reduction in blood cholinesterase activity levels and loss of weight of rabbits occurs, were determined. It was determined athat 1, 2, and 3 solutions and emulsions of the two thiooxy compounds does not cause local skin reactions or changes in the general condition of rabbits.
