This sixth semiannual progress Report, covering the period 1 November 1973 to 30 April 1974, includes progress in devising an approach to the calculation of the energy partition of an atomic collision cascade in multi element materials, extending existing calculations and writing a computer code for calculating heavy ion lateral ranges, developing a new transport theory for heavy ion beams near a target surface, an investigation of the dose dependence of nickel ion damage in nickel, studies of the flux dose rate dependence of void growth in 2.8-MeV nickel-ion-irradiated nickel, studies of helium temperature during helium implantation, development of a helium depth profiling system, and the design of experiments and equipment for studying irradiation-induced creep of structural alloys by cyclotron bombardment.
