The antibiotic-immunodepressants dactinomycin, bruenomycin, and rubomycin in the doses used on the guinea pigs and hamsters selected for reproduction of the allergic reactions exhibited an expressed toxic effect. Dactinomycin in doses to 30 microgramskg exerted an expressed immunodepressant effect. Bruneomycin in doses of 0.75 mgkg significantly inhibited the development of allergic contact dermatitis to 2,4-dinitro-chloro-benzene, but did not protect the animals from anaphylactic shock. Rubomycin in doses of 30 mgkg did not inhibit allergic reactions of the immediate and delayed types.
