The report describes a study intended to estimate the best possible accuracy of measuring the ratio GT System gain to system noise temperature of a satellite communication ground station using the radio star Cassiopeia A Cas A. The concept of GT and its measurement using a radio star is briefly discussed. Results of an extensive literature search are presented, summarizing the properties of Cas A and its vicinity described by radio astronomers in order to utilize this information to assess the accuracy of a GT measurement.
