Abstract:

The introduction of metal reinforcement W, Mo into the plasma ceramic Al2O3 coatings results in the following increased strength of their adhesion to the substrate and a prolonged service life due to a firm contact ensured by welding the reinforcing elements decrease in the thermal expansion coefficient KTR of coatings and a decrease in the difference in the KTR values of the substrate and coating, facilitating a decrease in the developing thermal stresses and an increase in the thermal stability of coatings increased thermal conductivity of coatings, which leads to the equalization of temperature fields, decrease in thermal stresses and, consequently, to increased thermal stability of coatings.
