Abstract:

The RTB-V5M wide-range manual air gas jet thermal drilling machine was developed, capable of drilling in rock-free frozen soils as well as in soils containing rock inclusions. The drilling speed in rock-free frozen soil for a borehole diameter of 50-80 mm is 40-60 mhr in sand and sandy loam, 20-40 mhr in loam, and 15-20 mhr in clay. The drilling speed in frozen soil containing rock inclusions varies from 6-8 to 40-50 mhr.
