Abstract:

Present Army VSLEOQ variable safety leveleconomic order quantity techniques for secondary items have been updated by a new DoD Instruction DoDI 4140.39. The objectives and specifications of the DoDI are reviewed and possible implementation alternatives are evaluated. Using six years of Army demand data, the various alternatives were tested by a computer simulation. The results are presented and the best VSLEOQ techniques are detailed. Author
