Abstract:
Survey data of employee attitudes from a large sample of U. S. Navy civilian employees are examined for links with employee turnover. Factor analysis is used to reduce the data to a smaller set of underlying variables. Regression analysis is then used to explore the relationship between turnover and attitudinal factors, organization size and time. Factors found to be significantly connected with turnover include employee services, satisfaction with subordinates, policy toward subordinates, union management relations, and job satisfactionmorale.
