The report contains results of a study in an experimental spread-spectrum communication and IFF system using surface-wave devices. The system uses acoustic surface-wave devices to generate and process signals with bandwidths of 50 MHz and time bandwidth products of about 1000. Coding techniques employed allow a certain degree of electronic code programmability, address verification, and ability to transmit digital data. Overall intent of this program was to provide a possible technique for application in the general spread-spectrumCNI Communication, Navigation, and Identification arena. Author
