Abstract:

A plasma which is subjected to the influence of a powerful pumping wave is unstable relative to the build up of plasma high-frequency electronic waves plasmons this is caused by the decay of the pumping wave into two plasmons. The article that follows studies the effect of a spatial inhomogeneous plasma on this kind of parametric instability. It has been shown that consideration of the spatial inhomogeneity of the plasma produces two effects in the first place, plasma inhomogeneity leads to a considerable increase in the threshold of the pumping waves decay into two high-frequency electron waves and, secondly, are enclosed in the plasma this corresponds to absolute instability.
