Abstract:

The mechanism of lead azide photolysis was investigated by parallel studies of thermally stimulated currents and nitrogen emission under identical conditions. Gas emission peaks were observed at -36, 13 and 25C. A thermally simulated current peak was observed in the 25C region. It is concluded that holes participate in azide decomposition, and that ionic processes do not limit the photodissociation. Author
