The analysis develops a dynamic model for the gun-turret configuration and then it couples this model with a finite-element structural model of the helicopter. In developing the gun-turret model the total configuration is divided into six different parts. The relative motion of the different parts is first defined by the gun azimuth and the elevation angles. The analysis takes into consideration these two angles, and their first and second time derivatives, as input parameters. The third input parameter which effects the relative motion is the barrel rotational velocity and acceleration and again this is an input parameter. The first objective of the analysis is to predict the three force and three moment components that the gun-turret produces on the helicopter structure. The analysis also includes the effects of the gun recoil force which contributes to the forces transmitted to the helicopter. Modified author abstract
