Abstract:
An experimental study was made to determine the optimum procedure for making dichromated reflection holographic lenses from chemically cleared Kodak 649F spectroscopic plates. The absorption spectral curve showed a sensitivity range from 3500 A to about 5500 A with the peak below 4000A. A 15-watt red safe light was used when sensitizing film with no fogging effects. Exposure curves showed a near linear relationship with the square-root of diffraction efficiency over a range from 20 to 40 mJsq cm. Ronchi rulings on glass slides and on photographic transparencies were used to measure square wave response.
