Abstract:

The report describes the basic principles of operation and performance of the Cybernetically Coupled Research Vehicle. This vehicle consisting of two coupled M113 APCs offers significant improvements in cross- country mobility, particularly in obstacle negotiation, and has demonstrated its potential as a research tool for exploration of the principles of controlling articulated vehicles with and without force feedback.
