The Command Post Program is a study to review command and control functions during the pre-1976 time frame to reduce personnel, increase mobility and survivability, and decrease size and signature of command post. Echelons from battalion through division are addressed in the final report. The basis for the study was a questionnaire survey sent to commanders and former commanders world-wide. The report contains an analysis of the useable questionnaires to include conclusions. Key result of the study is the conclusion drawn from the survey analysis that command and control effectiveness would be improved at battalion level with the merger of operations and intelligence functions.
