Abstract:

Experimental evidence concerning the determination of K sub IC is presented. Tests encompass three types of aluminum and two steels. It is concluded that valid K sub IC data is attained from notched hollow round specimens in tension as long as the ratio of notch stress to yield stress or 1.1. Modified author abstract
