Abstract:
The basic principles and equations of radionavigation systems have been applied to estimate the wind-measuring accuracy of the Loran-C and Loran-D systems. For Loran-C, the equations for the time difference gradients on the spherical earth have been derived, and a simple method of correcting them to give approximate gradients on a spheroidal earth has been given. For Loran-D, the time difference gradients have been calculated using a flat earth approximation. Modified author abstract
