Abstract:
The report describes an assessment of alternate strategies for optimizing energy supply, distribution, and consumption systems on naval bases. It contains the results of costbenefit analyses of six near-term energy conservation strategies applicable to continental United States CONUS naval bases. Implementation of these energy conservation strategies would not require research and development R AND D expenditures and would result in an energy savings roughly equivalent to 11 percent of current CONUS Navy energy use.
