Abstract:
The problem of studying the ionosphere with the aid ISZ artificial earth satellites led to the need for the creation of set-ups to simulate the characteristic conditions of outer space, in particular, set-ups for the laboratory simulation of ISZ movement in ionospheric plasma. The article describes a set-up intended both for the laboratory calibration of airborne instruments used during study of the upper ionosphere and for studying the flow around small-scale models of ISZ by diluted ionized gas.
