Work in the following general areas is described 1 Calculations of the X-ray emission from a hot plasma 2 effect on the X-ray spectrum of departure from steady-state ionization conditions during solar flares 3 cooling mechanisms operating in solar flare plasma 4 heating of active regions by magnetic energy dissipation 5 the nature of plasma arcs in solar active regions and, 6 a model for magnetic field annihilation.
